Having watched 6 episodes of it, I'm still not even one third through
It's not just any drama, it's those that make you think a lot
those that are just that much more interesting because you have to 'read between the lines' and interpret its implicit meanings

It's not a drama that anyone would find entertaining to watch and it IS very 'korean'
lots of yelling, screaming, arguments...
but of course, you don't have to understand everything to be able to enjoy it
It's the type of drama that I can get really attached to (especially at times around exams and assignments because perhaps i can understand the 'pain' haha )
Popular dramas like Boys Over Flowers and the recent Personal Taste are easy to watch, easy to accept
I wouldn't say BOF lacks depth, it certainly has a degree of depth in it, but not as much as 'You're beautiful'
However, the level of bitterness and heaviness in Cinderella's Sister exceeds others
All the characters are played with layers of complexity
it's intense, but i love it
The style of the plot and the way the events are set out makes me think of the Hong Sisters who wrote the script for 'You're beautiful', but this is the first time I've heard of Kim Kyu Wan and I haven't come across his previous works before
Most people would know the story of Cinderella, but this drama is told from the perspective of Cinderella's Sister
So you have a stepmother who is a total bitch,
an annoying sister (whose family is invaded by the step mother and step sister) who appears like a victim but still manage to win your hatred
a stepsister (the step mother's daughter) who's cold-hearted and rigid but you'll sympathise her when you see that she's probably the biggest victim
It's not a drama that anyone would find entertaining to watch and it IS very 'korean'

There are too many misunderstandings to count, but you don't get fed up with it
