The worst fairy tale
of attempts in rekindling a dying flame that has no future
Or simply the thought of rekindling...
Knowing the
consequence of taking risks in coming out all shattered, broken and hurt, we
still walk into it.
Human nature hey? That explains the unpredictable waves of shock and emotion that followed

You're not the same person anymore
You used to be such a tease, a fun sport and goofed around
in the most light hearted care-free way
But I guess this is what distance does to you
This is how I've made you become someone burdened by worries
of my overthinking; fear of failing expectations, being hurt from
disappointment
And this you is someone who you are not
Being with me isn't bringing out the best of you
When you are supposed to be with someone who makes you a
better person
This is how distance makes us unable to go back
Unable to undo the regrets and disappointment
And for that, I feel sorry
I wanted to let you see the best of me
I wanted to see the better side of you
To fight for it, to defend for ourselves
But it doesn't always work that way
We come to learn that pursuing a long term relationship just isn't about attraction
It isn't about the fighting to be with the person you have that lightning connection with
It isn't about being yourself, letting loose and being immature and having the most fun you can ever experience
But it is somehow about accommodating differences to reach sustainability without killing each other with too much or too little passion
One is meant to believe that all should just naturally fall into place, right?
